NEW YORK TOUR

JUNE 23-30

A Show by Women for Women

Cast of Mikva the Musical

Mikva the Musical, Music and Monologues from the Deep, an innovative

theater experience, brings a stellar cast from Israel for its U.S. premiere.

Mikva the Musical is composed of authentic stories by real women, presented by professional actresses, and with songs using original lyrics to beloved melodies.*

It is compelling storytelling filled with honesty, laughter and tears, an

eye-opening and transformational evening. Situations are enacted through vivid performances of incredible sensitivity.

Mikva the Musical is performed as Reader’s Theater, which is a dramatic presentation of a written work. Scripts are held by the performers, who bring the text alive by using voice, facial expressions, and gentle choreography. There are no intricate sets or extravagant costumes. It is about the power of the word, the power of song and the power of life itself.

We feel blessed to have the opportunity to give a voice to these stories, and to develop awareness and insight into the joys of mikva, and to the challenges that some women face. We also feel blessed at the reactions we have received.

Ticket sales and donations will enable us to continue to perform with our professional cast and crew, and to bring inspirational and thought-provoking stories of mikva to communities throughout Israel and beyond. Mikva the Musical operates under the non-profit aegis of Raise Your Spirits Theatre, an educational women's theater company.

*Legal use of parodied songs observed.
